As you probably know, I am self taught but at school I loved Art. It was my favourite subject, but the times that were in it, you went out and got a job. Much as I wanted to go to Glasgow School of Art it was seen as fantasy land. When I attended a local course in Gweedore here in Donegal back in 2006, an afternoon of it involved painting. To be honest, that was the only thing I remember about the course and this first picture is the result, the first thing I had attempted to do since leaving school 20 years earlier. Now as you can see, it is very basic, but we all have to start somewhere. No matter what it is, who you are, what age you are, we have all got a starting point and it’s where you go from there that matters. You have to give yourself permission to try something new and make the Mistakes, it’s how we learn…Art is a process, for me it is a life long Quest and I have to paint what I love and see, I don’t look anywhere else for “Approval” only from Me!
IT’S ALL KIND OF TERRIBLE UNTIL IT’S NOT
Loving the Journey.
