Paintings from Donegal and it’s Islands to the Islands of Scotland to the other side of the spectrum, Glasgow and growing up in the city!
Glasgow is very dear to me and always will be, I still have a home ( tenement flat 🙂 ) there also that I and my family use it regularly.
I love everything about it, the character, drama, personality and humour is second to none…you really need a strong back to take the slagging a Glaswegian can dole out!
The Tenements are a huge backbone to Glasgow’s culture and they are stunning buildings inside and out, the craftsmanship that went in to a lot these is truly stunning.
This particular painting “Nosey Parker” can be taking in a few ways. The man peeking around the curtain, what is he looking for? More snow or maybe the wife coming home from “the Bingo” Or are we the nosey one’s looking into these People’s houses ( as was pointed out to me by a very interesting person and I love the perspective 🙂 We can take it anyway we want. It was originally the light coming from the close that spurred me to paint this tenement and then I decided it needed some life so the character’s are fictional.
